  3. Try to ping the server to make sure that VPN server is reachable.
    For this go to command prompt and Type “ping” followed by your VPN server name or IP address of your VPN server.Press Enter. You will come to know if your VPN server is working or not on your command prompt screen.
  4. Make sure that router and firewall settings for VPN and PPTP are permitted.
  5. Enable the PPTP Port (TCP 1723) and GRE Port (47) for VPN Connection.

  7. Finally check the VPN IP Adress once again and delete “http://” and “/” from the server address.

  • Also make sure that none of the firewalls are blocking L2TP Port (UDP 1701).

If you want to use IKEv2 or you are interested in IKEv2 based tunnel instead of PP2P or L2TP, then for avoiding Error 800 VPN , you have to make sure that:
